For businesses & organisations
Chaplaincy for your workplace.
A workplace chaplain is a trained, independent volunteer who visits your site regularly and is simply available to your people. No agenda, no paperwork, no cost - just a trusted presence for whoever needs one.

What workplace chaplaincy is.
Chaplaincy is one of the oldest forms of workplace support and one of the simplest. A chaplain walks the floor, gets to know people by name, and makes themselves available for a conversation - about anything. Sometimes that is a passing hello. Sometimes it is the first time someone has told anyone what they are carrying.
Our chaplains show Christian care to people of all faiths and none. They are not counsellors, managers or union representatives. They are independent of your structures, which is exactly why people talk to them.
How it works.
From first conversation to a chaplain on site, usually within a few weeks.
An introductory conversation
We meet your leadership or HR team to understand your people, your sites and any existing wellbeing provision.
Agree the shape of it
Together we set the visit pattern, the areas a chaplain will cover, and how staff will be told about the service.
Matching a chaplain
We place a trained, DBS-checked volunteer chaplain who fits your setting and can commit for the long term.
Regular visits begin
The chaplain walks the floor on an agreed rhythm - usually a couple of hours weekly or fortnightly.
Review together
We check in periodically to make sure the arrangement is still working for your organisation and your people.

Frequently asked questions.
Will chaplains try to convert our staff?
No. Our chaplains are motivated by Christian faith, but the service is for everyone. Chaplains never proselytise. They are there to listen and support, whatever someone believes.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Our chaplains are volunteers and WorkCare West Midlands is a registered charity funded by supporters and churches. Some organisations choose to make a donation, but there is no fee.
How is confidentiality handled?
Conversations are confidential. Chaplains keep no records of what is said and report nothing back to management, other than the safeguarding limits explained to everyone at the outset.
How much time does it take from our side?
Very little. Once visits are established the chaplain works independently. You need only a named contact and a short review conversation now and then.
Does this replace our EAP or occupational health?
No, it sits alongside them. An EAP is there when someone already knows they need help. A chaplain is a regular presence on the floor, which is often how a conversation starts in the first place.
Are chaplains vetted and trained?
Yes. Every chaplain completes our training in listening, safeguarding and workplace context, is DBS-checked, and receives ongoing supervision and support from us.
Talk to us about workplace chaplaincy.
An informal conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. We are happy to come to you and explain what chaplaincy could look like in your setting.
